Did anyone tell you yet how nice the weather is today? Because god, the weather is so nice today. However, there was no other soul nearby for me to share this revelation with, for both my mom and sister, have real life things to do. So I was just sitting here, all alone in a house that is really too big for just me anyway. Whenever I am alone and enjoy the quiet this is the first thought that comes to mind. This house is too big for just me.
I didn’t really sit though. As a matter of fact I never really sit when I’m alone. I much more so lay around and throw my feet up in the air, then move to my side or end up lying on my back in a chair which isn’t really meant to lay down in. My mom used to call me a monkey, I guess. (As a kid I also enjoyed climbing up in things.) Anyhow, I was ‘sitting’ downstairs in the full view of the sun and at the other side of the window, my cat started rolling around. And then when I didn’t give her enough attention (I was trying to read a book), she started meowing and rolling around even more. God, I love cats. So I joined her outside and it is where I have been ever since.
When I said I joined her, I literally meant, I joined her; on the ground and all. The sound of nature, the natural quiet, the blowing of the wind, the sound of animals and the sunshine… they do something for me. It makes everything feel so peaceful around you and when you touch the ground you feel it all the more. Besides, what is better than to lay in this peaceful place with a ball of fur next to you?
I couldn’t help myself then, after a little while. I wanted to take a picture and, of course, when I take a picture of my cat, I have to send it to someone too. The thing with cats is though, that once you want to take a picture of them and give them all the attention you have, they suddenly walk away. But, persistent as I am, I did get my picture and I did send it to my friend; one who has seen around 10 pictures of the same cat in the previous 3 days. And guess what, my cat did not even change positions in any of these pictures.
I suppose you are familiar with young parents on Facebook. They keep on sharing photos of their babies and claim that they have grown, even though the baby in the picture of last week looks exactly the same as the baby in the picture of this week. With cats, it is no different, or dogs, or horses. Yet we seem to be so in love with these beings that we can’t help but share our love with the world. But really, I mean, every cat looks like a cat unless they are kittens. But then again, every kitten looks like a kitten too so- You probably get my point by now.
Does it matter though? Nah, not really. It just so happened to cross my mind. So did anyone tell you yet, how nice the weather is today? Perhaps you should, like me, if you get the chance, go outside and experience it for yourself. Watching clouds pass you by is truly one of the best things in the world.
